What are the products of Vidcare Innovations?

Vidcare Innovations is building Mu-sure, an equipment-free diagnostic platform. In simple term, the entire test fits in a disposable, credit card sized, self-contained chip, without compromising test accuracy. All you need is the mu-sure chip. Add a drop of sample (urine, saliva, finger-prick blood), wait 20 minutes, and read results as you do on a thermometer or by clicking a picture using the mobile app. The test is first of its kind test that does not require any instrument or power to provide measurable readings, and is designed to be intuitive and easy to use for home users.

The first test that Vidcare Innovations is launching is a thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) test for hypothyroid patients. Hypothyroidism is a condition where the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormone, which regulates the metabolism and growth of the body. Hypothyroidism can cause symptoms such as fatigue, weight gain, depression, hair loss, and more. It can also lead to severe maternal, fetal and congenital complications during pregnancy. According to the World Health Organization, India has one of the highest prevalence of hypothyroidism in the world, with 1 in 10 adults and 1 in 2 women suffering from it.

The TSH test by Vidcare Innovations can help hypothyroid patients monitor their condition and adjust their medication dosage accordingly. It can also help screen for hypothyroidism in pregnant women and children, who are at a higher risk of developing the condition. The test can be performed at home, without the need of visiting a lab or a doctor, and the results can be shared with the doctor instantly through the mobile app.

Vidcare Innovations is also developing other tests, such as diabetes (HbA1c) test, which can measure the average blood sugar level over the past three months. This can help diabetic patients manage their condition and prevent complications such as kidney failure, blindness, and heart disease.

Why is Vidcare Innovations important?

Vidcare Innovations is important because it is addressing a major challenge in the healthcare sector: the lack of accessibility and affordability of diagnostic tests. Diagnostic tests are essential for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of various diseases, but they are often inaccessible, expensive, or inconvenient for many people, especially in rural and remote areas. According to a report by the World Health Organization, more than half of the world’s population lacks access to essential health services, and out-of-pocket spending on health pushes nearly 100 million people into extreme poverty each year.

Vidcare Innovations is solving this problem by providing a low-cost, easy-to-use, and portable solution that can enable anyone to perform diagnostic tests at their own convenience, without the need of any equipment, power, or trained personnel. This can improve the health outcomes and quality of life of millions of people, especially those who are underserved or marginalized by the current healthcare system.

Vidcare Innovations is also contributing to the global efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages. By making diagnostic tests more accessible and affordable, Vidcare Innovations can help reduce the burden of communicable and non-communicable diseases, improve maternal and child health, and strengthen the health systems and capacities of countries.
