What is Exponent Energy?

Exponent Energy is a full-stack energy company that builds chargers, batteries, and everything in between to unlock 15-minute rapid charging for EVs. The company was founded in 2020 by Arun Vinayak, the former Chief Product Officer of Ather Energy, and Sanjay Byalal, the former supply chain manager of HUL. Rapid charging generates 256x more heat than slow charging, which can cause thermal runaway, degradation, and fire hazards. Conventionally, extracting this heat requires bulky and expensive cooling systems on the vehicle, which add weight and cost to the EV.

Exponent Energy solves this problem by offloading the cooling system to the e^pump, which cools the e^pack by pumping refrigerated water through the e^plug, a proprietary connector that can handle 600A of current. This way, the e^pack can be charged at a high power without overheating, and the EV can be lighter and cheaper. The e^pump also has the highest energy throughput in the lowest space, which eliminates the need for large and slow charging hubs.
